God of all people, fill our hearts with your Holy Spirit
that we will act justly to rid our world
of all that harms our brothers and sisters.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Last week we spoke about Catholic Mission and that October is Mission month. This year we will be holding our Mission Day on Thursday 31st October and we have planned a whole school religion lesson time with mini stalls as a fundraiser. On the Friday we will pray a prayer for Catholic Mission at assembly. The students from each class will be making a number of special items to which they will sell to the rest of the school. This mini fete idea helps to raise money for Catholic Mission. Below is a list of items that will be for sale all at 50c each.
The idea is that each class will make some items to be sold as well as some donated items and all the money raised from their stall will be placed into their classroom sock. At the end of the day all monies will be counted and passed onto Catholic Mission. We are also encouraging the students to bring along any loose change to add to their classroom socks in aid of the missions.
The plan for the lesson and mini stalls is below:
Thursday 31st October.
Normal classes until 12.30 pm
12.30 pm The whole school will be participating in a religion lesson at the same time and implementing the activity/activities that are provided by Catholic Mission.
In the flexible learning space there will be a photo booth so we can photograph the children with their missions and talk to about these promises.
1.10 pm – We will have the mini stalls set up for students to be able to purchase their items. All items will cost 50 cents each.
If there are any parents who would like to help out any of the classes at their stalls please just see the classroom teacher.
Some of the items being made are – Bracelets, Hacky sacks, Origami and clay tea light candle holders
Blessings and wishes for a wonderful week ahead,
Amanda
