Welcome back to Term 4
It has been another beautiful week in Weipa.
We certainly live in a beautiful part of the country. It’s great to see all students walking into school everyday with big smiles and maybe an occasional tear ready to begin their new learnings for Term 4. Its so hard to believe that it is Term Four and that 2022 is almost over.
The teachers, School Officers, Receptionist and students have all been wonderful and welcoming to all.
The holiday fun from students and teachers has been great to hear.
I remember the first day of school this week and a student came and asked me if it was Christmas activity/craft time.
Thank you, parents, for your greetings in the morning.
I was privileged to do a sightseeing trip out to Red Beach yesterday.
It is such a wonderful scene. I look forward to exploring some other places when I come back to Weipa that the students and teachers talk about.
Thank you once again St Joseph’s School. Enjoy the rest of Term Four and hope to see you all before the end of 2022.
Until then stay safe especially in this heat.
Regards
Lillian Miller
Welcome back to Term 4, I hope everyone enjoyed some extra family time these holidays and found joy doing the things they love with their children.
The children settled in well into classrooms as class routines were established on day one. Many classes revisited their expectations and what the 4’s (Respectful, Responsible, Resilient, Ready for Learning) look like, sound like and feel like.
We were blessed to have Miss Lillian Miller our First Nations Consultant from Cairns Education Services fill in as Acting Principal for the week. She spent time visiting each class and reconnecting with students and families after the break.
Welcome Back Year 6
Today we welcomed back Year 6 from Camp in Mareeba. The students had the opportunity to visit Camp Paterson and participate in a wide variety of team building activities. It is always an anticipated event that never disappoints, and we are happy to report that we have locked in our dates for 2023. A big thank you to Melanie Turner, Stacey Edmonds, Amanda O’Brien and Megan Pearce for travelling with the children and facilitating the Camp.
First Nations Netball Cup
