P Ed News
AFL with Matt and Shelby has been a great success over the last 2 weeks on a Friday. The afterschool signup has been for more than 80 students, a record apparently in such a small school! So thankyou parents for your support of this great initiative.
Please see the attached flyer for the Yr 4-6 Carnival on the 1st June.
The Cape Sun JRL committee thank the parents of St Joseph’s for your involvement and attendance at training and signing up your kids for the year. The word is that it is great to see so many new faces sign up for such a great community club. Particularly the Under 12’s!
Thankyou to Aiden, Noah and Leon for speaking at assembly about their Peninsula trip to represent St Joseph’s for Rugby League in Week 2. Leon has made the Peninsula team which is an outstanding effort!
Our Cross Country Age Champions were awarded their medals at Assembly in Week 2. Congratulations to each of these students for their outstanding effort. Luke Wright has been selected for the Cross-Country Peninsula trials to be run in Cairns on the 28th May. He has continued his training and we wish him every success in running a personal best time.
In class P Ed lessons we have been focusing on catching and throwing different types of balls, rolling skills and games to consolidate these skills. Over the next few weeks we will be practising ball games skills and field event skills in lead up to our Athletics Carnival in Week 10.
Queensland Cricket will be visiting our school on the 9th and 11th June. Each class will have the chance to learn different cricket skills and on the 11th the Yr 3-6 students will be involved in a School Cup Challenge.
Lots of great sport and activities happening this term to keep your child active, learn new skills and enjoy themselves.
