May the Month of Mary

During the month of May we honour Mary our Mother. She is a mother to all of us, protecting, loving and shining over us. With prayer being central to our Catholic faith, it is one way in which we can express our love of Mary this month. You may like to consider praying the Hail Mary as a family.

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death
Amen

The Feast of the Ascension- 13th May

The Ascension celebrates the ongoing presence of the risen Christ as he transcends into Heaven.

Did you know there are two accounts of the Ascension, one found at the end of Luke’s Gospel (Luke 24:50-53) and a lengthier version found in Acts- 1:1-11. It is believed that the author of the Acts of the Apostles is Luke. The event takes place forty days after Easter Sunday. It is through the Ascension that Christ can be present to us as He could never be before, and we are presented with the challenge in our busy lives to be present and still with him.
