Year 5 News
Wow! We have finally made it and what a year it has been. It was a year of many firsts for the Year 5’s and I’m so happy that we accepted it with determination and such responsibility. This past fortnight we have finished off our units of work for the term, with the last week, being a week for consolidation.
The Year 5’s were fortunate enough to travel to the pool with the Year 6 students as an end of year reward due to the cancelation of sporting activities. They behaved respectfully and responsibly whilst having a blast. We had a couple of challenges and some well-earned chillout time. They also worked extremely hard on their performances for Starry Starry Night. It takes great courage to get up in front of so many people. The Year 5’s have done the school proud.
This week we experienced Christmas Around the World. Students went to different classrooms where they were given information and an opportunity to do an activity that represents traditions in that country.
Today the Year 6’s handed over the baton of leadership to the Year 5’s. They got the opportunity to run fun minute to win it challenges for the entire school before we sent our Year 6 students off to their next adventure. It has been a great opportunity for the Year 5’s to step up.
I want to take the opportunity to thank all of the families of Year 5. We will be saying good-bye to some while we say I’ll see you next year to the rest. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to teach this wonderful group of students and wish them all the best next year.
Kindest regards,
Stacey Edmonds
