Year 3 News

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

In English, we commenced Reading Groups and started a new class novel titled Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library. The students are enjoying following on with their own text and listening to their peers read. 

In Religion, we have been learning about the many ways Jesus is represented in the Bible and how the Gospel of Matthew refers to Jesus as the Messiah. We will continue to delve into the writers of the Gospels and the audience they were writing for.

In Writing, we have been focusing on Procedural Recounts and how they are written in past tense. Last week we conducted a simple experiment which tied in in with our Science unit Heating Up where we used food colouring in different containers of water to show how heat energy moves. This week, we will use the experiment to construct a procedural recount together.  

Just a few gentle reminders 

  •  Homework has commenced and will need to be submitted every Friday.  
  • Students need to bring in a piece of fruit to eat during crunch and sip in class and a drink bottle.  
  • Laptops should be coming to school charged and ready for learning every day.
