Year 1 have had a terrific week. We practised our tricky words, learned about text structure and read our new decodable readers.  Next week we will learn about verbs, adverbs and pronouns.  In Maths, we explored duration and compared hours, days, and months.  We crated our own class calendar with special dates. Next week we will be learning about 2 dimensional shapes and their attributes.  In Science, we will complete our Schoolyard Safari by analysing and comparing the habitats of worms, ants and snails.  We will develop our positional language by exploring toys from the past, present and future.  Mrs Grant (our Teacher Librarian) will be teaching us how to use technology, Pic Collage, to make a time capsule.  Students are asked to bring in an item that is special to them (favourite toy, game, book etc).  On Wednesday and Thursday we will learn how to take a photo of our object, write 3 interesting facts about our object and collate these into a class time capsule.  Students will be able to take their object home on Friday.
