Faith Corner - Mrs Amanda Saunders
This week is both a sad and happy week for us as we say goodbye to some very special people – Mrs Mellner, Mrs Smith and the McKie-Blaney family. Mrs Mellner and Mrs Smith joined us as Foundation staff members in 2016 and it has been an amazing few years working with them as a part of the St Joseph’s team. Both ladies have put a lot of their time into not only their roles but as members of the whole school community and we thank them for this. Today we celebrated with a farewell and gratitude liturgy and even though there were lots of tears, those tears are for both sadness and happiness. Sad because they are leaving us but happy for them as they begin a new chapter on their journey and we wish them the utmost happiness and God’s blessings as they begin.
The McKie-Blaney family joined us last year and we are also sad to be saying goodbye as they venture to new surroundings, new friends and as mentioned in the liturgy today this is only goodbye until we meet again.
This week our prayer in the newsletter is the one we used in our liturgy today speaking of the Fruits of the Spirit and how these are important in our lives. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are like virtues and the fruits of the Holy Spirit are the actions that those virtues produce. These are so important in our lives and to focus on them at this time is so special. We have so many of our staff, students and wider school community who display and enhance our lives daily with these fruits.
I would like to wish you all a wonderful weekend, stay safe and God bless,
Amanda
