Uniform Policy

It has been noticed that a few items not listed as part of our school uniform have been appearing each day. This is just a reminder of our Policy and why we have a uniform at St Joseph's. If a student is found to not be in the correct school uniform a note will be sent home. Please check our policy below.

School Uniform

At St Joseph’s our uniform encourages our students to take pride in their appearance at school.

All compulsory uniform items (except school shoes) are available for purchase through our online Uniform Shop which operates through Flexischools www.flexischools.com.au

The School Uniform policy states that students must wear an all black covered in shoe. During the wet season, children are permitted to wear “Crocs” either Navy Blue or Black in colour (no thongs or other sandals are permitted).

Girl’s Uniform

  • School shirt with the school logo
  • Navy skort
  • Navy ankle socks
  • Covered shoes or sandals to be worn at all times (Students are not allowed to wear thongs to school)

Boy’s Uniform

  • School shirt with school logo
  • Navy school short
  • Navy ankle socks
  • Covered shoes or sandals to be worn at all times (Students are not allowed to wear thongs to school)

Hats

Students are expected to wear a school hat at all times when outside. We cannot over-emphasise the importance of students wearing hats to prevent damage from the ultra-violet rays of the sun. No hat will result in no play and/or exclusion from outdoor activities.

Sports Uniform

  • Sports uniform should only be worn on allocated sports days
  • Girls – Navy skort with sports shirt
  • Boys – navy short and sports shirt
  • Sports shoes with white socks to be worn for both girls and boys

Jewellery

The only jewellery allowed will be one set of fine studs or sleepers and a chain with some form of religious significance. Nail polish is not acceptable.

Hair

Hair, if longer than shoulder length for girls, is to be tied back with a navy blue ribbon or scrunchie. Boys’ haircuts are to be neat, tidy and kept above collar length. It is expected that hairstyles reflect the code of dress required by the school. The colouring of hair and inappropriate hairstyles are not acceptable.
