Year 5 News..

We made it!  We will all be very relieved on Friday when we complete our Naplan testing.  I am very proud of the way the students have been prepared and focused for each test. They all showed patience, perseverance and not one student gave up. There have been varied reactions to the online testing procedure, however we have been lucky enough to only have had some minor glitches. Overall fantastic effort.

In our learning we started our Religion unit about the Holy Spirit and how it is present in our lives in different ways. For Geography this term we are looking at natural disasters and we have started exploring bushfires and where these occur and why.

Our Maths focus last week was fractions (improper, equivalent, proper, mixed) and how to convert these. This was tricky but with practise we became much more confident with these concepts. 

In Art we have started some Surrealism and the students have drawn their first art piece.  We continue to write persuasively and next week will write a speech to persuade an audience.
