APRE

A Prayer for our Earth - Laudato Si’ (246)

All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe

and in the smallest of your creatures.

You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.

Pour out upon us the power of your love,

that we may protect life and beauty.

Fill us with peace,

that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one.

O God of the poor,

help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth,

so precious in your eyes.

Bring healing to our lives,

that we may protect the world and not prey on it,

that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction.

Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain

at the expense of the poor and the earth.

Teach us to discover the worth of each thing,

to be filled with awe and contemplation,

to recognize that we are profoundly united

with every creature as we journey towards

your infinite light.

We thank you for being with us each day.

Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.

Season of Creation

From September 1 to October 4, Christians around the world are praying and caring for creation. The beginning and the end date of Season of Creation are linked with the concern for creation in the Eastern and the Western traditions of Christianity, respectively. The theme of this year’s Season of Creation draws inspiration from the words of the prophet, Amos, “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5: 24).

Around 2.2 billion Christians worldwide are urged to join the “river of justice and peace” and work collaboratively as stewards of God’s creation. Here are some links to some of the resources available to promote/ celebrate the Season of Creation in your schools and homes:

New Playground

The new playground is ready to open and to be used. The students have been very patient and will be able to use it as of Monday. There have been many students who have been part of the design process including past students and we would like everyone to be able to celebrate with us. Please join us from 3:00-3:30pm on Wednesday 13th September to come and test out the new playground and enjoy it with your family. Please ensure you bring a hat.
