Year 1 class news.
Year 1 News.
Year 1 have had a busy couple of weeks. Our attendance at school continues to be something we can celebrate with 82% of Year 1 students attending 95% of the time.
In English we will be learning the phonograms “ar”, “or” and “ore”, the tricky words “two”, “three” and “four”, and the grammar rules that apply when changing nouns to plurals. We will continue to write character descriptions, using adjectives to make our writing more interesting for our readers.
In Maths, we are learning to recognise and describe Australian coins according to their value. We are also learning to recognise and describe one half as one of two equal parts of a whole. This will lead us into telling time, half past and o’clock.
In Religion we are learning that we are all unique with God given talents. We have explored our part to play in God’s plan and how we are responsible for caring for our Earth. The students have enjoyed discussing the freedom of choice, and the responsibility that comes with making moral choices. The students loved preparing to showcase our learning at assembly and I am so proud of the resilience and responsibility they showed when presenting to the school community.
