Year 4 have been busy working on assessments for end of unit work. We are producing some excellent work samples with so many things to be proud of. Our level of understanding texts and our comprehension levels have improved so much since the beginning of the year. The stand out is our knowledge of a variety of vocabulary that is relevant to certain texts plus how language features are used in texts. Students are understanding that language features really do make the text we read more enjoyable if it is done right. Roald Dahl definitely knows how to do this right, and we are finding his stories engaging.  

We have conducted many surveys and have recorded our data using a variety graphs. Some of us have gathered data on the classes favourite colours, fruit, video games, fish, sport and so much more.  

Religion lessons have been all about the sacrament of healing with students learning what the role of the priest is when anointing the sick and penance. We will be doing a visit to the church next week to see the many symbols and items within the church that are linked to the sacraments.  

Next Friday we have our Cricket Gala Day with WCC and Aurukun over at WCC senior oval. If you haven’t already signed the parent slip, please do so. It is a great day of outdoor fun.
