Year 3
Across the past 2 weeks in Year 3, the students have been busy finishing off their assessment and consolidating their learning. In English the students finalised their narrative story writing. They had to make sure there was a title, orientation, complication and resolution within their story. The students first wrote their draft into their books, and finally typed up their final copy on their laptops.
In maths we are finishing off the term with fractions. Students are looking at how we can divide shapes and collections into ½, 1/3, ¼, 1/5, 1/10. We also finishing our unit on angles, and identifying angles that are smaller or bigger than a right angle.
In science the students conducted an experiment to test the transfer of heat across different materials, including metal, plastic and wood. We found that metal was the better conductor of heat over the plastic and timber.
Our athletics carnival is coming up and the students will be practicing their ball games in preparation for this. Thank you to all the parents who have already volunteered their time to help out at the event, it is appreciated by everyone.
I hope you all have a lovely long weekend!
Emily
