Year 2

Welcome to the end of Week 8 Families!

Almost halfway through the school year already! Year 2 have been busy completing assessments and consolidating their learning from over the term.

On Friday, Year 2 presented the story of The Unforgiving Servant at assembly using Liquid Pictures as we have been learning about this parable in our Religion lessons. We also sang the Seven Continents Song as we have been learning about the world and oceans in HASS.

This term in Science and Technology, students were required to design, create and reflect upon a toy that can either push or pull. Students were very creative in their designs. We had cars, yoyo’s, caterpillars, dolls and paper airplanes.

In Literacy, students have been innovating different texts such as The Gruffalo and The Very Lazy Ladybird. They have really let their creativity shine when coming up with their own versions of the story whilst following the writing success criteria to be successful authors. After completing their drafts, students then used their Chromebooks to type their stories onto a word document. Once printed they were then able to illustrate their story. We loved using the ChromeBooks!
