Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter break and hope families got to spend some quality time together during the school holidays.  It has been lovely to see so many smiling and happy faces each morning as we begin a new term.

A huge thank you and shout out to all our families, staff and students for making our Cross Country Carnival and Event to remember. I am grateful and proud to be part of such a wonderful school community.

This term we have some staff changes due to the resignation of Mrs Steohanie Neil at the end of last term and having Mrs Amanda O’Brien go on maternity leave for the rest of this year.

From Monday of week 2, Mrs Debra Hamilton will be moving to Prep to team teach with Mrs Kate Backhouse. To fill the gap created by this move Mrs Gear and Mrs Melanie Turner will be team teaching in Year One.
We are still advertising for an additional teacher to cover teacher release and leave throughout the rest of this year.

On Monday 24th April, we will be hosting our own ANZAC Day Liturgy from 2pm in the flexible learning area. All are welcome to join us. Thanks in advance to Miss Ridgley and Year 3 for organising this event for our school community.

You are also invited to join in the Weipa RSL Sub Branch Memorial Dawn Service on Tuesday 25th April. There will be a procession from the roundabout located on Central Avenue and Hibberd Drive to Memorial Square. The parade will assemble at 5:15am and commence at 5:25am. A service will follow after the parade.

lease ensure children have had water and something to eat beforehand as this is a standing event. We hope to see you there to show support and honour for those who have served our country.

Next Friday 28 th April we celebrate our St Joseph Feast Day. We invite all families to celebrate with us at our whole school Mass at 9am followed by morning tea.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead and hope to see you at our events throughout the
week.
God Bless,
