Although we had quite an interrupted Term 3 with our ARTS lessons, every class is close to completing their tasks and learning more each week about the Elements of Drama and/or the Elements of Media Arts.
Yr P-1 Students can recognise, draw and act out a range of about 12 different emotions. We have been playing the “Playing Faces” game in class each week, as well as Charades to help them understand how to react to emotions and how to deal with a range of feelings. We have had lots of fun doing this. Super stars have been so on task with this drama concept.
Yr 2-4 Although each class is working on quite a different theme, they have all applied themselves really well to almost complete our tasks.
Yr 2 are working on How Important their Family is to them through a slideshow and adding effects.
Yr 3 have been working on advertising “WEIPA” as a place to visit and why.
Yr 4 have written a script about a “fractured fairytale” with some very curious and interesting characters and endings. Can’t wait to hear the end result of these.
Yr 5-6 Students have completed designing their avatar/character, created a slideshow based on the 4 R’s and their avatar demonstrating these. Our final task is to create a real life prop of their avatar and then present it to another class.
We have been discussing the importance of making and responding in media arts and drama, through feedback, warmup games and improvisation.
