News from Year 1
Welcome back to Term Four!
My goodness, we can’t believe we are saying that already. We hope you all had an enjoyable holiday break and managed to squeeze in some rest time somewhere in between. This term we have hit the ground running. Please see below a little snippet of all the fantastic things we will be getting up to.
In Maths, we have been exploring patterns and the concept of half. In English, we have been working hard to bump up our reading skills and for writing we’ve jumped into poetry which has been an exciting change. HASS and Science see us learning about living and non-living as well as places and how we can care for the special places in our communities. Religion this term is all about Mary and we cannot wait to show you the beautiful pictures we have created all about our special mums because we know that Mary was a special mum too! Technologies is about data collection and using digital platforms to share this data in a variety of ways. We look forward to exploring lots of new concepts in Arts and PE with Miss Libby, Health with Mrs O’Brien, AUSLAN with Mrs Gear and Music with Mrs Turner which we will keep you updated about.
We commenced our swimming lessons again this week and look forward to the following two lessons to come, and then of course our annual swimming carnival! Please enjoy our photos of our very first lesson which as you can tell by our faces, we thoroughly enjoyed.

Many thanks,
Year One.
