We have had a wonderful start to Term 2!  We have celebrated Anzac Day, participated in our first school cross country, attended the school leadership Mass and this week we will celebrate the caring women in our lives at our Mother’s Day breakfast. 

• This term in English we are learning to combine visuals and written text and identify characteristic features of narratives e.g. beginning and end. Using nursery rhymes and fables, we will engage with rhythms and sound patterns in oral and written language.  Of course, we are also continuing to develop our knowledge of letter and sound combinations, writing simple sentences, using familiar words and our beginning writing knowledge. 
• In Maths, we are ensuring that we are counting fluently with a stable counting order. We are also using Answers to yes/no questions to collect information and make simple inferences. We are learning to copy, continue and create patterns with objects and drawings. 
• In Science, we are involved in observing, asking questions about, and describing changes in the weather.  
• HASS this term begins our exploration of geography.  We will describe the features of familiar places and recognise why some places are special to people.  We will look at how places can be represented on maps and a globe. 

• Design and Technology gives us the opportunity to explore force and motion. We will also investigate how this applies to Transport – including the movement of people and goods.
