Year 3 Celebrate Celebrations!

In HASS this term, year 3 is learning about different celebrations around the world. We are investigating what activities cultures participate in, what traditional foods they eat and traditional dress they wear. This week we start with Australia’s own celebration – Australia Day. Students shared how they celebrate Australia Day with their families. We also discussed how schools and the Weipa community celebrate Australia Day. The class also coloured replicas of the flags of Australia as symbols of celebration as often these are displayed at events on Australia Day.
