Year 6 News
The last week or so has been pretty crazy! Last Thursday was our Respectful Relationships session and this week we have had Josh Arnold here. We are striving to continue to be strong leaders in the school and remember to follow the 4 R’s.
Our 2 committees are in full swing and it is all action stations!
The Mission Committee has been working hard to make stress balls, pom-poms and angels in preparation for our Mission Day stall. We are making everything ourselves from donated materials and all the proceeds will go towards the RFDS (Royal Flying Doctor Service).
Please see our poster to see what we will be selling. We will be going around each class next week and explaining it to classes further. We are also making cupcakes to sell on the day. We are very excited and working really well as a team to make this happen!
The Recycling Committee are really proud of the success so far with collecting lunchbox items to take to Containers For Cash. Every day after lunch, we count, tally and bag up the containers. Then clean the tubs and have them ready for the next day. It is our job to take them out every day and bring them in (without being reminded too!) so it has given us extra responsibility and a sense of achievement. We are working better as a team now and sharing the load. The money raised will be donated to the RFDS.
In class we finished writing our Yr 6 class song which is pretty cool. Then we wrote our own song lyrics which we are proud of achieving. We have worked hard in Maths on our problem-solving skills and strategies and of course, assessment tasks. It has been hard work but only 10 days until we finish primary school!
We are now focused on our Graduation and getting ready for that. Award nominations, speeches to write and our own slideshow to prepare. We are getting excited.
