Hello Prep Families,  

We have had a very busy few weeks in Prep. We are preparing for starry, starry night and it is getting to that time of term where we are starting to look at report cards and the students are showing the us how much they have been learning throughout the year! 

English:  

Students have been doing some fabulous writing in the last two weeks. We have been focusing on the tricky words come and some and using them to write sentences. We have been doing lots of reading and it was very exciting to have Mrs Pearce come into our classroom this week to check out the students awesome writing!  

Maths:  

Students have just finished learning about sharing and enjoyed sharing their party bag sharing with you all on See Saw. We are about to start learning about adding.  

Religion:  

Students created their own rosary crosses to bring home and share with their families. We have been looking at the different prayers we say as we come to the end of October, the month of the rosary.  

HASS:  

In HASS this week the students designed their own playgrounds. The students had to create a map of all the different things they would have at their playground. It was great to see the student’s creativity when designing things and using their imagination to create castles and crocodile slides.  

Technology:  

Students have been using technology to collect and show data. They have been using See Saw to share some of their work with you at home.  

Daniel Morcombe Curriculum:  

We started our Daniel Morcombe curriculum this week we started learning about feelings in our bodies that tell us when we are not feeling safe and need to use our 3 R’s of Recognise, react, and report.   

It was fantastic to see all the students coming in red to support Daniel Morecombe day at the school.
