Month of October: Month of the Rosary
The month of October is a special time of the year where we honour our blessed Mother Mary through praying the Rosary. Rosary is derived from ‘rosarium’, Latin for ‘crown of roses’. It is believed when you pray the rosary it is like you are taking a walk through Mary’s beautiful garden of roses. This October why not learn more about the Rosary and try to learn how to pray a decade of the Rosary.
Socktober- Catholic Mission Month
On Friday, the school joined in Socktober by wearing crazy socks to school for a gold coin donation. This was to show our support of Catholic Mission who provide funding and project support for children and communities around the world. Socktober for Mission Month encourages students across Australia to kick goals on and off the pitch to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children in Thailand and around the world. Thank you to Year 2 for leading the Prayer Assembly on Friday morning, to Miss Ridgely for kicking soccer goals with the students to raise awareness and to all those who participated in raising funds for this worthy cause.
Sacramental Weekend
This weekend we had several students who received Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation. The St Joseph's students, combined with Western Cape College students have participated in the Sacramental Preparation Program since Term 3 and were prepared to receive the Sacraments. Father Dariusz joined us on this special occasion. Congratulations to all the children and their families.
