What a whirlwind kind of 2 weeks!

The students last week delivered their persuasive speeches in class and then to another class. They did a dummy run first, getting feedback from their peers and myself which was really valuable so each student could work on some specific areas.  (E.g volume, more emphasis on words, slow down, eye contact, more enthusiasm). This Speaking task was so good for confidence building in front of an audience and reflecting on what makes an engaging speech.  Although many were nervous delivering their speech to another class, I congratulate each student for going in prepared and giving it their best shot!  I know each one of you learnt something about yourself and the feedback that you received will help you in your next task.

Yr 6 also presented their Science task of an electrical circuit model to each other and other classes.  Some photos are attached.  This taught many students about time management and having ready in their head how to explain a procedure. Great job everyone on your models.

In Religion we have been learning about Prophets and the important messages they receive. We have also been looking at the history of the Israelites and their need for a King to direct them. We were lucky to have Father Dariusz visit Year 6 classroom this week to talk about Saul and King David. We also extended an invitation to Father Dariusz to join us for a meal on school camp.

With the Colour Run, Swimming, NRL days and preparing for camp, we have been flat out!

Still work to do before the end of term, working on a geography task, research task of choice and continuing with Maths learning about Money and financial matters.
