Year 3 news
Year 3
Linking in with our Term 3 Science theme of the Sun, the Moon and the Earth, Year 3 recently engaged in a book called “Earth Yay!” Written and illustrated by Jonathan Sundy, Earth Yay! explores Earth by celebrating what makes every planet unique. With playful themes of friendship, self-expression, and celebrating differences, Earth Yay! is a loving ode to the planet we all call home. It is an online storybook and really captured the interests of our Year 3 class.
In Science, we have been creating an iMovie to display our knowledge about day and night, the seasons and how shadows are formed. I have been impressed with the students’ focus in creating unique and entertaining videos. Our skills in using the Apple iMovie App has improved out of sight.
In Writing, we have been completing a procedure on ‘How to Create an iMovie’ for assessment. Students have really showcased their skills in using time words and adverbs to create a well-sequenced and descriptive procedure.
In Mathematics, we have been practising different addition and subtraction strategies. We have continued practising our 2, 5, and 10 multiplication and division facts.
